However, the new look fits beautifully with other new SUVs Chevy has been unveiling recently. Although the new Trax is longer, lower, wider, and much sportier than the model it replaces, the 2024 Chevrolet Trax is still a compact crossover SUV. The exterior styling is fresh and modern to the point of being futuristic, and the interior is spacious, stylish, and packed with the latest technology.
There are five trim levels to choose from in the 2024 Trax family, each of which has specific design cues, including grille designs, wheels, and unique décor. The range starts with the entry-level LS trim level and then goes to the 1RS, LT, 2RS, and range-topping ACTIV.
Appropriate propulsion
There's no need for big, powerful, large-displacement engines and complex all-wheel-drive systems in a compact SUV that will spend its life in an urban environment. That's why every version of the all-new Trax features the same 1.2-liter turbo-three engine that sends 137 horsepower and 162 lb.-ft. of torque to the front wheels through a well-proven six-speed automatic transmission.
The turbo-three provides excellent on-demand power for passing maneuvers and on-ramp acceleration, and its small displacement means owners can also enjoy excellent fuel economy.
Spacious and generously equipped cabin
With a wheelbase that's six inches longer than its predecessor and a wider track, the all-new 2024 Chevrolet Trax has a deceptively spacious interior. That means extra space for rear-seat passengers and a 12 percent increase in maximum cargo capacity.
There are notable differences between the interiors of the various trim levels. Ford example, the LT trim has black seats with Sky Cool Gray accents, the 2RS incorporates red accents on the seats, and a racy flat-bottom steering wheel, RS and ACTIV trims have black bowtie emblems, while the ACTIV top trim gets Evotex seats with yellow accents.
